The Environmental and Applied Fluid Dynamics (EA) Department of the von Karman Institute (VKI) invite applications from, and nominations of, highly-qualified individuals committed to teaching and research relevant to Multi Phase Fluid Flows.
Candidates with strong numerical and experimental background in thermohydraulic and multiphase flows are especially encouraged to apply. Areas of particular relevance include (but are not limited to):
The candidate is expected to teach courses in the VKI research masters program. He/she will have the leadership, vision and motivation to become the head of a strong research unit composed of research engineers and PhD researchers, and collaborating in an interdisciplinary way with the other research units in aeroacoustics and environmental flows.
To reach these objectives the candidate is expected to actively participate in seeking, managing and performing funded research programs in the context of an international environment.
Applicants must have an earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering. Prior experience in the management of research contract (including European Union funded research programs) is a strong asset. Rank, tenure status, and salary will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments. Candidates should be citizen of a NATO country and have a working knowledge of English.
